“There is nothing more difficult to plan,
more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage, than a creation
of a new order of things”
Machiavelli’s “The Prince” 1469-1527
The change phenomenon can arise from numerous causes:
Political movements, government requirements, trends in the expectations
of society, pressure and interest groups, competitive pressures,
constantly increasing consumer expectations to name but a few.
Whatever the causes, all organisations are affected by changes
in their external and internal environments. What they are free
to decide is whether to allow changing circumstances to dictate
how they operate, or to formulate strategies enabling them to thrive
in their environment.
Many businesses have identified that in today’s extremely
competitive market place the quality of their approach to change
has become a major and in some cases the deciding competitive factor.
Public Services have different pressures and organisational objectives
but face similar issues – how can they prioritise delivery
of high quality services in an efficient, effective and prudent
manner?
We at CMA are specialists in identifying the need for
and management of change.
